Questions
The things people ask before trusting an app with how they feel
If something here isn't clear, or isn't answered, write to us — the address is at the bottom of the page.
- Is Sereneo therapy?
- No. Sereneo is a self-reflection tool. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or prescribe, and it isn't a crisis service. If you're struggling, please talk to a real person — your local emergency number, or a crisis line where you are. In Norway, Mental Helse is on 116 123 and the emergency number is 113; across the EU, 112 reaches emergency services.
- Can anyone else read what I write?
- No. Journal text and any AI reflection are encrypted with a key unique to you. Delete your account and that key goes with it, immediately and for good.
- Do I have to use the AI features?
- No. AI reflections are a separate, explicit choice that starts switched off. Say no, or change your mind later, and the rest of Sereneo works exactly the same.
- Is my writing used to train AI models?
- Never. Your entries are not used to train anyone's model — ours or a third party's. When an AI reflection is generated, it's labelled as AI and it isn't retained for training.
- Why does this site ask about cookies?
- Because we'd like to know which pages are worth writing more of, and the tool that tells us that sets a cookie. Saying no costs you nothing — the site works identically, nothing is loaded, and nothing is stored. Saying yes stores a random identifier that recognises a return visit; it isn't an advertising identifier, it doesn't follow you to other sites, and "Cookie choices" in the footer deletes it again. The app itself is separate and asks you there.
- Does it work without a connection?
- Yes. Every entry saves to your device the moment you write it, so nothing waits on a connection and nothing gets lost if you're offline.
- What does it cost?
- Writing, checking in and looking back over your own entries are free, and stay free. There's an optional subscription — monthly or yearly — that unlocks the deeper reflections and trends. Final prices are set per country by the App Store and you'll see yours before you agree to anything; nothing is charged without you choosing it.
- When is it out, and on what?
- It's coming to iPhone first. There's no date yet — join the waitlist and you'll get one email when it opens.
- Is it in my language?
- Probably. Sereneo is built in 47 languages and follows whatever your iPhone is already set to — there's no language menu to find, and you can change it per-app in iOS Settings if you'd rather read Sereneo in something else. Arabic, Bengali, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French (France and Canada), German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese. Right-to-left reading is handled properly, not bolted on.
